Three Kings day
The Three Kings day (January 6) reminds of the three wise kings from the Orient, who have been guided by a star to where little Jesus lay right after his birth.
This day is in general the start of shrovetide (carnival). Danes don't celebrate it in any special way, unlike their Swedish neighbors. In Sweden, January 6 is a public holiday and many are taking off between January 1 and January 6. This is not at all the case in Denmark.In general, Danes go back to work on January 2 and you'll have to recover on the fly from your wild New-Year's-Eve celebration.
