In the Museum you will find 5 Viking ships and a lot of information about the life of the Vikings. You can also watch a film about the Viking age, which on request is shown in various languages.
Inspired by this, kids can try out being a Viking, dress up, get armed and be a dangerous seafarer albeit on model ships in the museum hall.
Those that want to experience the "real" thing can take a boat ride on the Roskilde Fjord on one of the rebuilt Viking ships.

From the Viking ship museum you can have a leisurely walk to the city center and visit the impressive cathedral (Roskilde Domkirke), where all Danish kings lay burried.

Roskilde lies on Zealand, about 40 minutes west of Copenhagen.
